Prayer For 2/28/14 God and Humans (Family - TopicsExpress

Prayer For 2/28/14 God and Humans (Family Matters) Everything is Gods. The two reference verses are Psalm 24:1, which reads The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; and John 1:3, which reads Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. Basically, God owns everything. It also means that everything that exists is a model derived from God. Example: Family Matters, a huge 90s sitcom featuring the character, Steve Urkel. How do God and Family Matter correlate? Watch. First metaphor: Steve/Stephan in relation to Laura. Steve/Stephan represent God. Laura represents humans. Throughout the show, Steve, who dressed himself as an unattractive nerd and genius, goes to extreme measures to show His love for Laura, only to be constantly rejected. Sound familiar? Laura hated Steve but yet and still, He continued to love. But, notice that Laura never liked Steve till he became Stephan, which is God revealed in His majesty. Steve is Gods love and pure heart. Stephan is the majesty and the appearance. If we would only look past the glasses, we would realize the majesty standing in front of us. Second metaphor: Urkelbot. During one episode, Steve created a robot that was made in His image and had free will. The robot eventually rebelled against Steve, its Creator, and was destroyed. Enough said. Third metaphor: Laura and Myra. Laura is Israel and Myra is the Gentiles. Laura was always Steves first choice but she rejected Him because he didnt have the look. So Steve accepted Myra, the ingrafted branches, because she loved him back. But in his heart, he still loved Laura too because she was first. Last metaphor: The Final Episode. By this time, Laura had finally accepted Steve and loved him. But, Steve, who was an astronaut, had to leave the Earth. Yet, he promised to come back (Second Coming). When he finally came back, he proposed. Why? Because he wanted her to be His BRIDE. Praise be to God! Have a blessed day :)
