Topic: God Works Miracles Through Elisha Comments: -A pleasurable read: Seeing Gods miracles throughout the chapter. - Preparing a room: Make sure your room is clean because you never know who will stop by. Your home speaks volumes about you and how you live. The Shunammite woman built a room for Elisha for him to come and go as he pleased. The acts of Elisha clarified Gods character to the Shunammite woman. It caused her faith to be be stern and rooted in God. -We know what God is going to but we do not know the details of how God is going to do it always. It is amazing how the finishing product blows the minds of both the receiver and doer of Gods work. -The Oil represents- a double portion from the acts (Obedience and Sacrifice) of living for God. Give what you have and the Lord will give you more: -Representation and Accuracy: In order for Gods will to be done he requires our cooperation. Our faith is shown in our willingness to do what God tells us to do. - When we get to a mature relationship with God we should take all of our cares and concerns to the Lord only. There is a point of healthy conversation, God will present the opportunity. -What a Godly woman lacks in strength she never lacks in compassion. Trust that God will be God. -The out-pour of a pure heart when we are not trying to please man but please God and God only. A sincere saint of humility does not care who is watching. Song: What a friend we have in Jesus: https://youtube/watch?v=tNFgKot8oh0 Questions: -Why do people say God bless you? Why was the 7 significant in the childs sneezing? The Romans would say Jupiter preserve you or Salve, which meant good health to you, and the Greeks would wish each other long life. The phrase God bless you is attributed to Pope Gregory the Great, who uttered it in the sixth century during a bubonic plague epidemic (sneezing is an obvious symptom of one form of the plague). Seven is the number of completeness and perfection (both physical and spiritual). The child sneezing seven times was a sign that God would keep his promise of keeping the child in good health. -Why was it significance of the sons helping gathering the pots for oil? An underlining principle of relationship: Mothers love can sometimes be the closest to Godly love on Earth: Cultivates the willingness to obey and love for one another. The amount of the task will measure the faith. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. Psalm 68:5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. Prevailing thoughts: -Only God can place the heart of another man in another mans heart. -If you are not focused you are hopeless.
