*****Prayer Request For Jason Hopkins***** Hey friends… I want to extend a hand out and ask for all of you who believe in the power of prayer, regarding a subject of more vulnerable nature. Today around 10:30 am, I will be meeting with a general surgeon to discuss the removal of a mass in my right chest that I have had for a few years. This mass was biopsied and found to be benign upon its original discovery, and was not removed. My family had lost insurance and therefore the mass remained. Cass and I were blessed with insurance months ago, and as I met with my PCP tests determined that the actual mass has surely grown. Pain and discomfort as well as the unfortunate continued growth has led us to this day. Cass and I have prayed a long time to be in a place where this could be removed, and this is where I would love your prayers. Sure, I could ask for favor during our appt, but I actually am requesting us all to pray that His will be done; that if it be His will, that insurance would cover the procedure as there is a large unknown about this factor....and this would be the source of my anxiety. Thank you so much for your genuine thoughts and prayers in this... Jason ****UPDATE**** Cass and I have completed my consult. The original tumor had indeed grown, and a second, larger tumor was located underneath (top of rib). Both are considered benign. Discussion of surgery ensued, only to cease once they listed our insurance as one of the few that would not cover. Apparently pain, discomfort, etc, are not qualifying aspects enough to remove benign tumors within our specific health plan lol...clearly, whatever is creating these masses bears its level of concern to our family, and we wish to figure that out. That said, how can I not be grateful. Where so many are encountering loss and hardship due to disease and illness, I can go home knowing that my family has me around. That for the most part, I am a healthy man. What else do I need my God to give me? So many of you have prayed. Thank you. I was hoping to hear removal was possible, but only God knows what lessons and opportunities He has in store for me. Knowing how cared for my family is in times of uncertainty is certainly not the least of these... Jason
