Prayer Warriors please read this and Pray! In 2003 I was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq where I developed a relationship with a group of Iraqi Christians. They identified themselves to me when they saw the cross on my uniform. Christians are an extremely small percent of the population in that country. Some of those believers were Chaldean Christians and others were Assyrian Christians. Both are ancient denominations. The Assyrian Christians are the descendants of the Ninevites, the modern day city of Mosul. Christians have lived in that city for some 2,000 years, but no longer. They were given the choice to convert to Islam, pay a heavy tax, leave or die. As of this weekend the Christians have gone. They have fled in the face of persecution. I can only imagine what might have become of my brothers and sisters. I urge you to pray for the persecuted Christians of Iraq. Pray that the Lord will provide for them and that He will strengthen them in their faith and in their witness. Let us pray that they may put on the full armor of God according to Ephesians 6:10-20.
