Prayer and Fasting: Day 9 Distractions. OH MY GOODNESS. Do you ever deal with DISTRACTIONS? I was just telling the Lord this morning before I got out of bed how I felt like this 21 days of prayer, I have been SOOOOOO distracted. SOOOOO much going on, SOOOOOOO busy. Lets face it. We all live in a time of a very busy fast paced life. Just in the time Ive typed these last few sentence, I bet my phone has dinged 20 times, my newsfeed keeps refreshing below me and a video starts and it grabs my attention, Jer wanted me to come look at the snow, oh wait, phone just dinged two more times....you get the point. In times like this you have to just STOP, just for one second, even if you dont think you have a second and talk to the Lord, tell Him you need Him. Put on a worship song. Read a verse. Just ACKNOWLEDGE the Lord. No joke, just during this post Im typing I have had tons of things pulling for my attention and I STOPPED, turned off all the lights in my downstairs room, I have three candles I turned on (flameless, I LOVE THEM), and I turned a worship song on. I just sat here with my eyes closed and fingers on the keyboard....then Jer walks in and is like WHAT ARE YOU DOING? haha. All I know is I love the Lord so much and I need Him so much. I remember back in the day when Jer and I finished up our time in a ministry training school, we had a hard time not thinking we were TOTAL LOSERS because we werent spending an hour a day in prayer. In our school you had an hour set aside where we all prayed in this massive sanctuary, it was an awesome time. We had thirty minutes of worship, then an hour of prayer, then 30 minutes of scripture study time. That time was SCHEDULED in for us. So what do you think happens when you leave that environment and get married and you have two jobs then you get pregnant and you are not sleeping and then baby two comes along.....BUSY sets in. Let me tell you something, I will NEVER EVER regret going to that ministry training school, but it MESSED ME UP. It wasnt until Jer and I started attending Church of the Highlands that we had that LIGHT BULB moment....we began not thinking of prayer like we HAD to, but that we GOT to. It wasnt an obligation, but something we just WANTED to do. It wasnt a RULE, it was a DESIRE. We also learned that the Lord just wants us to acknowledge HIM. He doesnt have a heavenly stopwatch on Him that he sets when we begin praying and just because it doesnt reach 10 minutes and 32 seconds He laughs us off. NO, HE WANTS OUR HEART. He just wants us to acknowledge that we NEED HIM. That we cant do things on our own. Anyway, I feel as if I have rambled and not sure if any of this makes sense, but can we all just be FREE in knowing that our Lord loves us so very much, even when we are distracted. Lets all (I am talking to myself), realizes distractions are all around us and lets not let them take our focus off of what the Lord has for us. Lets not live in condemnation, but freedom. Today I pray that even in your busy schedules, that you will have a GOD MOMENT, even if its just a brief second, that you will see HIM at work in your life. I love you guys so very much. I have been getting countless encouraging messages over the last few days and I just want you to know that it brightens my day and makes my heart filled to the brim with joy that there are so many on this journey of letting the Lord have a place in their lives and businesses. Now, I hope you have the most CRaZY AWESOME DAY EVER TODAY!!!!
