Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, Some days, when we come to you, we just have such heavy hearts. We see all who are suffering around us and we know we are helpless to do anything to ease their pain or to help their desperate situations. We are reminded when we see all that is wrong in the world… when we see all the people who are evil, cruel, hurtful and dishonest, that we live in a sinful, fallen world. On these hard days, Lord, we think of how you wept. Surely, your heart must grieve every day over the sin, hurt, pain and suffering that exists here. On the tough days, Lord, what a comfort it is to know, that you understand our feelings, cares and concerns. We thank you for all you’ve done for us, o even in our sadness, we can rejoice, because we know that better things await us. Lord, help us to make the time today to rest at your feet. In the stillness and in solitude of this prayer time, may we be ministered to by you. Help us to envision a safe place where we can go to be surrounded by your warmth, joy, peace and love. Lord, please, refresh us. Please give us relief from the battles of life. Please, gather to yourself, all that are worn down from constant pain and illness. Lord, you promise to give rest to the weary and so we are claiming that promise today. We thank you for your compassion, love and mercy for us, Lord….we would be so lost and hopeless without you! In the name of Jesus we ask all these things Amen
