WATCH, STAND FAST IN THE FAITH, BE BRAVE, BE STRONG (1 Cor 16:13) Eph 6:10-12: Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against prinicipalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. We are living for Christ but in many places our brothers and sisters are dying for their faith in Christ. In Iraq, Nigeria and many other countries Christians are being oppressed and subjected to unimaginable cruelty: mass executions, hanging, crucifixion, decapitation. We need to understand that the hour of Jesus coming to fetch us in the rapture is very close. Let us shift our egocentric focus from the everyday worries and stresses to our Lord Jesus. Let us be bold in our witness for Christ in this sinful world. Rom 8:18: For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Let us pray: Lord Jesus, thank you for pouring out Your love and grace on all Your children across the world. We lift our voices and bring before You Your martyrs. Make Your children faithful unto death. We pray for Your enemies who persecute Your children. May they too see Your light. Help us to look beyond our shallow and selfish lives to the glory of our coming Saviour. Help us to use the days You give us to testify of Your saving grace to all people. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Amen.
