Prayers for Alex Illes Fundraiser at Terramar Park on October 27, 2013 Dear Friends: As many of you know, Alex Illes, a 9 year old Parkland Little Leaguer, was struck by a car on July 20, 2013. Unfortunately, Alex suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and is undergoing intensive rehabilitation with a goal toward relearning the basic tasks that many of us take for granted, such as eating, walking, and talking. It is anticipated that his rehabilitation will take months. His parents, Mike and Jamie, have been at Alex’s side throughout this difficult time and continue to focus their efforts on Alex’s recovery while not forgetting their 12 year old daughter, Mya, who has handled this tragedy with amazing strength and support for her beloved brother. A fundraiser is being planned for October 27, 2013 at Terramar Park from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with all proceeds to go toward Alex’s recovery process. There will be a Home Run Derby sponsored by Parkland Little League, an auction, food, and lots of fun. In order to make this worthy cause a success, we are looking for donors for auction items, such as tickets to sporting events, sports memorabilia, movie theater tickets, or spa packages. Pasquale’s pizza is donating pizza, but we need additional food donors. This is our first fundraiser and we really want to make it a success so we welcome any and all ideas.
