Prayers for the Persecuted Christians and Church in the World March 10th - March 16th Monday March 10, 2014 Lord our God, You are a God Who revealed Your love for all people in Jesus the Christ. We pray this week for all the people of the Philippines and especially for those hit hard by the violence of nature. Comfort all the people, and grant shelter to the homeless and loving caretakers for the orphans. We thank You for the support You give them through so many people across the entire world. We ask you this through Christ our Lord. Tuesday March 11, 2014 Dear God, You give hope to those in need and comfort to those who sorrow. We pray today especially for the Church in the Philippines. Grant that she knows that her brothers and sisters everywhere in the world are close to her; may the Philippine Church, realizing that, be strengthened in her faith and grow in numbers. Grant her wise leaders, loving benefactors and capable preachers. Through Christ our Lord. Wednesday March 12, 2014 Almighty God, Your reveal Yourself in brotherly and sisterly love. We pray for our brothers and sisters in the Philippines and other areas that have been hard by natural disaster. Grant relief to the victims, especially the children; may all offered support be used well and bear fruit. Through Christ our Lord. Thursday March 13, 2014 God of love, You are the source of all love. We pray for the people of the Philippines. We ask that they may continue to be given the support and the courage they need to rebuild their lives. May their brothers and sisters across the whole world continue to be concerned about them, remaining lovingly committed to the future of all people in the Philippines, especially that of the children. Through Christ our Lord. Friday March 14, 2014 God of love and justice, The seed of Your Kingdom sprouts and grows wherever You want it to. In this time of fasting and repentance we pray for all those who proclaim the Good News in the Philippines and around the world. We ask You to protect them in their important work. Grant them courage and wisdom and infectious love for You and all people. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Saturday March 15, 2014 Dear God, You led your people Israel out of the darkness of slavery into freedom. We pray during these 40 days of Lent for all the courageous men and women who proclaim Your Message of liberation and love in countries whose governments have forbidden this. Grant the preachers of Your Good News joy in their life’s work, as well as patience and persistence in difficult times. Through Christ our Lord. Sunday March 16, 2014 Loving God, Your Son Jesus Christ brought peace, joy and healing for all people. We ask You, on this second Sunday on the way to the great Feast of Easter, for the protection of all families and households worldwide who are victims of poverty, violence and persecution. Grant their elders wisdom, perspective and patience; comfort the children. Grant that their suffering will be fruitful for the good of the entire world. Through Christ our Lord.
