Prayers, please, today, FB friends! We are about to place my dad who is suffering from Parkinsons Disease, into long-term care. Mixed emotions....this is the dad who used to sit on the living room floor and place one foot behind his head....so mobile. Watching his progressive decline in health has been heartbreaking, yet I know in order to properly care for him and my mom both, this has come to the point where we now have no choice. Seeing the defeat in his eyes breaks my heart. I love my parents so much....the role of being a parent to your parents is not one that I enjoy yet I also know in my heart that it is also a way of honoring them by seeking to provide the best care possible for both of them during this season of their lives. So thankful that they cared for me!
