Praying and seeking God REQUIRED being more real than anything I had ever done before in my entire life. I remember diligently praying one time, crying with a great desire to just please the One who knit me together in my mommas womb. I knew well what the MOST important thing is... Matthew 22:37-38 NKJV Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. The thing was though, that even though I wanted to love God with every ounce of my being I knew that wasnt enough. The question of How do I make that real? was pressing in my time of prayer. Every time God showed me something, I had to know how to make it real. I would ask What does that look like? The revelation was worthless unless I could put the rubber to the pavement. As I was praying through this, waiting for God to give me clearity, I realized it was right in front of me... Matthew 22:39-40 NKJV And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” The second is LIKE it. By loving my neighbor as myself is how I make the first commandment applicable. That is where the rubber meets the pavement, and that is why Jesus said: John 15:12-13 NKJV This is My commandment (please note that Jesus does NOT make the word plural), that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
