Praying at al-Aqsa Ramadan is an auspicious month for the revelations of God to humankind: The month in which the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the prophet Muhammad. Amin Alemi reports from Kabul on how the Muslims there celebrate the holy month. Things like working during Ramadan are in focus around the world, with employers taking the holy month into account when considering employee issues. In the Muslim world, life slows down during the month, with workplaces opening up later and closing earlier, making it slightly easier to fast. But in non-muslim countries, Muslims must continue with their work and carry on with their lives just as usual. Abdo hakam Binu Ali reports For Somali. And the holy month of Ramadan holds a unique significance for the Muslims in India. Munawar Zaman reports from New Delhi. The Israeli wall divides the Palestinian capital, Jerusalem, from the West Bank. The city contains the second holiest site in Islam, the al Aqsa compound, which has become inaccessible to the majority of the Palestinian population. During Ramadan, Israeli authorities have given special access so-called to all Muslims to pray at al Aqsa, but the Palestinians say the restrictions imposed upon them have become humiliating.
