Preach Preacher Preach! Preach the Word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. 2 Timothy 4:2 This month is recognized as Pastor Appreciation Month. There are many great pastors in our area who are faithful in serving The Lord. They pray, study, and visit. They fill their pulpits faithfully . Let us honor them for the work they do and be a blessing to them not only this month but every day. My challenge to every congregation and pulpit in our area is for us to get back to Biblical preaching. We need to back up the preacher who is still taking the call of God serious in our day. Many pastors of our day spend their time tip toeing around the issues of our day because of the immorality and fear of offending someone . Lets examine the words in our text briefly. The preacher is to be instant in season and out of season. The word instant says it all here. It meanstake a stand and carry on when it is favorable and when it is unfavorable. The preacher is to reprove which is stir to the point of conviction. He is to rebuke to warn of the impending penalty. The preacher is to exhort which is to beg and plead with urgency. But he must keep in mind that all this is to be done with long suffering and doctrine. Preacher we are to stay within context of the Bible and remain compassionate toward those to whom we are preaching. Preachers do not have the right to choose their message. We are commanded to preach the Word. We have a mandate and we have a message. We must preach! If the hirelings of this age would walk out of the pulpits and let a God called preacher step into the pulpit this Sunday revival fire would begin to sweep our country once again. If there is a decay of conscience, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the public press lacks moral discernment, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the church is degenerate and worldly, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the world loses its interest in Christianity, the pulpit is responsible for it. If Satan rules in our halls of legislation, the pulpit is responsible for it. If our politics become so corrupt that the very foundations of our government are ready to fall away, the pulpit is responsible for it.~ Rev. Charles Finney Pastors, I thank God for you. Lets determine to preach Gods Word with a burning heart. Preach Preacher Preach!
