Premier League Betting Tips 16th, 17th & 18th August Tips Supplied By PuntersHangout - Tips Also Available By Email By Signing Up Here: bit.ly/TipsMailingList #ManchesterUnited v #Swansea In the opening match of this seasons Premier League we will finally get to see the new Man United who are expected to play very attractive attacking football this season using new manager Louis van Gaals favoured 3-5-2 formation. New captain Wayne Rooney is expected to flourish in this new formation and has 7 goals this summer. Van Gaal has revamped this United team having disposed of the deadwood and the ageing stars and brought in the future of the team with top signings Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera. There are still some defensive fragilities however they look well positioned to get the 3 points in an opening run of high scoring games. Swansea have loaned Michu to Napoli however they have made some great signings especially Bafetimbi Gomis, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Lukasz Fabianski. Their defense has been weakened with the loss of Ben Davis and Michael Vorm both to Tottenham and Chico Flores has gone to Qatar. Most bookies have priced up a Man United win in the region of 75% of the time which is fair so we will look to the goals market for our opening bet and we see over 2.5 goals coming in at 1.66 (Paddy Power). #Leicester v #Everton One thing that emerged about this Everton team last season is that they are very difficult to beat having lost 8 matches last season and they open their season against a team whose star signing is Marc Albrighton. Leighton Baines resisted multiple offers this summer and will continue to form a top defensive partnership alongside one of last seasons sensations in Seamus Coleman. Everton have made Lukaku a permanent signing with a club record £28m show of intent. Everton are currently odds against to take all 3 points which can be explained by Leicester losing just 8% of their home league games in last seasons Championship however the Premier League is a major step up in class and we will happily take Everton To Win (Draw No Bet) at 1.73 (BoyleSports) #QPR v #Hull Hull City Tigers have made some interesting signings such as Tom Ince and Jake Livermore but have lost Shane Long to Southampton however they still have the technically strong Nikica Jelavic. Their away form is terrible with just 12 points on their travels last season and they could face a very enthusiastic QPR side who will want to make their mark on their return to the top flight with a much improved defense with the arrival of Rio Ferdinand and Steven Caulker. QPR have trimmed 9 players off their squad and look to be set up to play extremely defensive football at home with none of their current midfielders offering a goal threat and their strikers are not known for tracking back so we can expect to see a lot of under 2.5 goals in QPR home games this season! After they failed to sell Loic Remy to Liverpool it look like they will start the season with a trio of strikers in Remy, Bobby Zamora and Charlie Austin who if he starts will be expected to score from long balls using his 188cm however he will find it extremely tough to improve on his goal tally of 19 from last seasons Championship and we expect them to play with a single striker for the vast majority of the season even though Harry Redknapp has hinted he will play a 3-5-2 formation we simply dont see the speed in their potential wingbacks to avoid conceding from the Premier Leagues faster pace and it is not an experiment we expect to see tried for long. We also have the return of Joey Barton to look forward to - His twitter is a regular source of world news, views and hard facts https://twitter/Joey7Barton We expect to see a very tight and cautious game between these two teams who could find themselves fighting relegation at the end of the season and will go for Under 2.5 Goals at 1.67 (Ladbrokes). #Stoke v #AstonVilla Stoke have made some typically solid signings with the main incoming players to watch being Phil Bardsley and Steve Sidwell however they have also got an exciting prospect in former Barcelona player Bojan Krkic. They have retained all of their first choice players from last season. Aston Villa have strengthened their squad slightly with the introduction of Aly Cissokho from Valencia along with Kieran Richardson and Joe Cole and they will be trying to marginally better last seasons 38 points. No bet #WestBrom v #Sunderland West Brom have been extremely active in the transfer window with 17 transfers so far. They have brought in a lot of exciting foreign talent alongside Premier League veterans Joleon Lescott and Craig Gardner. It remains to be seen how their lineup and strategy will change this season. Zoltan Gera and Liam Ridgewell are the major losses. Overall they have strengthened their squad and we expect them to improve on last seasons total points haul by at least 10 points. Sunderland have brought in Jack Rodwell from Man City and he will be determined to rejuvenate his career along with fellow former City goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon. Jordi Gomez from Wigan completes the major signings with Patrick van Aanholt from Chelsea who will try to kickstart his career in England. Their defense have been weakened with the loss of Phil Bardsley, Craig Gardner and Jack Colback so we will have to see how the team adjusts to this, especially as they had the 2nd worst defense of those teams who survived relegation last season with these players. No bet #WestHam v #Tottenham West Ham have kept their main players over the summer and have added a number of foreign stars in the making while taking Arsenal youngster Carl Jenkinson on loan so for the moment they are slightly an unknown quantity but a quick look at their summer friendlies show their form is very poor so while they can be expected to play ultra defensively against Tottenham at home they won this fixture last season 2-0 and we wont write them off in the opening game of the season until we see how they incorporate their new signings. Tottenhams summer business has been a mixed bag in that they strengthened their defense with the signings of Ben Davies and Michael Vorm from Swansea however their midfield has lost a top quality attacker in Gylfi Sigurdsson who went the other way to Swansea. Tottenham have had a solid run of summer friendlies with wins over Schalke and Celtic. No bet. #Arsenal v #Crystal Bibis Beauty Palace While Arsenal have lost Thomas Vermaelen and Bacary Sagna it can be a main point that their former captain Vermaelen was struggling to break into the first team for large parts of last season and they have brought in Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle to provide a good attacking full back option and they have signed what could be the player of the season in Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona. Crystal Palace have not made any significant improvements in their squad over the summer and didnt play any top level opposition to get a feel for how they will perform in the early stages of the new season. They have signed Brede Hangeland from Fulham on a free transfer so he will provide a lot of protection from high balls into the box but we can expect the same defensive strategy from the team who scored the least number of goals last season while avoiding relegation however it can be noted that Palace did spring a few surprises last season by beating Chelsea and Everton and drawing against Liverpool in a 3-3 match that derailed Liverpools title ambitions. While on paper we expect a comfortable Arsenal win we wont be enticed into handing over the cash at odds of 1.25 - No bet. #Liverpool v #Southampton Southamptons first team has been completely ripped apart in what is the most astonishing sell off of any Premier League team in history among clubs who are not in financial trouble and the team that did the most damage is their opening weekend opponents. Lallana, Shaw, Lovren, Chambers and Lambert have all moved onto greener pastures while Schneiderlin is basically on strike to force through a move to Tottenham. Last seasons Premier League player of the year, Luis Suarez, departed Liverpool for Barcelona in a £75m controversial exit and Liverpool have filled that huge void by bringing in Ricky Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can, Lazar Markovic, Dejan Lovren and loanee Javier Manquillo. We will have to see if this is a successful move or will we witness a slump similar to Tottenham when they tried the same strategy after selling Bale for mad money to Real Madrid. The bookmakers are generally going 1.33 on Liverpool to take the three points and when you look at how weakened Southampton are you have to fancy Liverpools chances to comfortably beat whatever is left of Southampton so we will go with Liverpool -1 at 1.91 with Bet365. #Newcastle v #ManCity Newcastle have once again shopped all over Europe to get their new crop of stars on the cheap and they look to have unearthed a potential star in Remy Cabella who will play just behind the striker and looks very creative in the same mould as Cesc Fabregas and I have been following one of their new signings for a couple of seasons in Siem de Jong from Ajax who is currently doubtful to play due to injury but Newcastle look to have made some very astute signings and I will be watching with interest to see if they can gel together. They only major loss is Matthew Debuchy to Arsenal. Man City trimmed a bit of fat off their squad and added Lampard on a short term loan from New York City but it remains to be seen if he gets much playing time. True to form they have again improved their mega millions squad with the arrival of Bacary Sagna, Fernando from Porto and Willy Caballero from Malaga who looks capable of sending Joe Hart to the bench. Newcastle are an extremely unpredictable outfit at the moment so we will let them build up a bit of form before we invest in their matches. #Burnley v #Chelsea Burnley have gone shopping in the bargain basement on their return to the Premier League in what will almost certainly result in relegation. They conceded the fewest number of goals in the championship last season however we fully expect them to be this seasons whipping boys and they host a Chelsea team that has fixed all their issues from last season and barring injury to a few key players are our pick to win the league this season. Chelsea have signed Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Filipe Luis from Spain and each one will fit perfectly into a Mourinho team. Cole and Lampard have departed but Chelsea are well stocked in their positions so their loss wont be felt. The opening game of the season is historically too dodgy to be investing in an away team at odds of 1.4 so we will avoid this game as we need to see how well Burnleys defense holds up in the top division.
