Premier League: Our data analysts have crunched the numbers and here is where YOUR team will finish Chelsea will be Premier League champions 2013-14, according to statistical analysis from the Trinity Mirror data unit. Despite Jose Mourinhos insistence that his billionaire-funded Blues are the little horses in this seasons title race, the data crunchers say the West London club are set to win the league by SEVEN clear points. Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal will qualify for next seasons Champions League while seventh-placed Manchester United look set to miss out on Europe altogether. At the bottom of the table it is Fulham, Cardiff and West Bromwich Albion that bite the dust, while Sunderland manage to survive with a paltry points total of just 35 points. The projected table analyses who each team has left to play in the league, and then compares that to how they have previously performed against teams of that caliber this season. By breaking the league down into bands (top 4 team = band 5, team in next 4 = band 4, etc.), we are able to see how many points, on average, each team gets against teams from each band. This is then cross referenced that against their upcoming fixtures and projected how many points they will have received come the end of May.
