Preparations for the scutum painting party are coming along well. Here are photos of the blazon pattern that is based on the earlier illustrations and photos provided by unit members. Ignore the white borders, those are just the edges of the paper that are outside the print area. The paper pattern will be used make a poster board outline stencil tonight as well as provide tracing sheets. Using carbon paper to trace the interior details on to the painted scutum seems to work well. This is going to be much more of a “paint by numbers operation than painting freehand.
