Pres. Obama’s NLRB ruled that the football players at Northwestern U. can unionize- college kids playing a game can form a union. Then I heard an interview with some NFL players who cheered on this State intrusion that will eventually destroy their livelihood. Society’s rush toward a feckless autocracy is most interesting in that the future citizens have chosen their tyrants. I’m constantly torn by a desire to say, “You asked for this,” and refuse sympathy. Then, I think again of father Abraham negotiating for Sodom, Moses and Jeremiah interceding for their beloved but corrupt, unfaithful nation, and Yeshua who prayed for forgiveness for his murderers who were sealing the destruction of Israel. While doing justly, we must love mercy, plead for it, and walk humbly before our God. Shabbat shalom.
