Presentation updates (or Blood for the Blood Gods! to those that get it): 1) Everyone got lost trying to find the location (thankfully made it on time, though) 2) Tina (one of our co-presenters) was going on four hours sleep after flying in at 1am from another project. Her partner was sick with a 101 degree fever but had to have a presence there. He wisely refused to shake anyones hands, hid in the back, and let Tina take the lead. 3) Which means Tina had to wing it. On four hours of sleep. 4) Tina cut her finger and got blood on her blouse during setup. Thankfully the cut wasnt too deep and the blouse was one of those drape-y things that could be repositioned and held in place with bobby pins. 5) The food for the continental breakfast arrived twenty minutes before we opened the doors, which meant we ALL had to scramble to get it set up. 6) 60 people RSVPed. We had 100 show up. (That was both good and bad). THE PRESENTATION PART OF THE MEETING WENT OFF WITHOUT A HITCH THOUGH! THE MEET-AND-GREET WAS FLAWLESS, THE SOCIAL NETWORKING JUST AS WE WANTED! YAY!!!! 7) During take-down (after everyone important had left thank god!), one of the trays containing the ice bath that kept the fruits and yogurts chilled SHATTERED in my hands. Ice and water went all over me and all over the floor. 8) What did I do? I cleaned it up as best as I could, and then went immediately to one of my favorite stores. Bought two cute new dresses, some jewelry, and a hair piece for under $45. Cleaned myself up in the bathroom there at the store (they know me, and sadly this isnt the first time Ive had to do something like this during work hours) and returned to the office. Because thats what classy, educated, professional women do... outwardly. Those who know me understand just what I was screaming on the inside. Ill let you all fill in those blanks. ;)
