Presented a motion yesterday that would have allowed a matter to proceed under a section of the pertinent statute that fits the facts perfectly and simplifies the process. Motion was denied; I was not given a reason except that the more complicated (but familiar) way of doing things was the most expeditious. My attempts to get a further explanation were met with Tell your client the judge is insane. I have concluded that there is a local order suspending the section of the statute and that it is stored in the same vault that contains the order placing Delta House on Double Secret Probation.
