President Jimmy Carter once stated, I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he is African-American. I think NOT! The so-called intense animosity is more about how much President Obamas domestic and foreign policy is similar to President Carters. If you remember, Carters popularity also eroded for very similar reasons. Stagnation best described both of their economic policies all the while they expanded the role of our Federal Government. Carter added two more Agencies (Energy & Education) while Obama expanded the role of Health and Human Services (Obamacare). Russia invaded Afghanistan in Carters time while invading Ukraine in Obamas time. Islamic terrorists seized the American Embassy in Tehran and held hostage 52 American diplomats for 444 days during Carters time. Islamic terrorists seize an American Consulate in Benghazi and killed our Ambassador along with three other Americans in service to their country. Bottom line, whether theyre Russians or terrorists, they both exploit weakness and a lack of resolve. I wonder what explanation President Barack Obama might give for our intense animosity toward President Jimmy Carter?
