President Koroma explained that a lot of lessons have been learnt from the Ebola outbreak. The outbreak, he said, has exposed the weak health system in the country and admonished that plans are conceived to ensure that the Ministry of Health and Sanitation is structured in such a way that “we will not succumb to any future attack of this nature”. He therefore encouraged the new ministers to intensify their efforts to increase the efficiency of the overall sector, adding that their experiences and exposure in the sector should be able to help them live up to the expectations of Sierra Leoneans to put Ebola under control as soon as possible. President Koroma also reiterated the need for the new team to work and collaborate with the other sectors and MDAs to ensure that at the end of the day the fight against Ebola is won.
