President Main and Academic Dean Ron Faulk were challenged by Larry Briggs, president of First National Bank and Trust, and Dean of Students T.C. Veit was challenged by a St. Gregory’s student to complete the Ice Bucket Challenge. They accepted the challenge, and were doused with a bucket of ice water to raise awareness for ALS. President Main, Dean Faulk and Dean Veit’s participation in the Ice Bucket Challenge is not a St. Gregory’s sponsored fundraiser for ALS, either directly or implicitly. The President encourages anyone wishing to make a donation for ALS seek organizations whose research does not involve the use of human embryonic stem cells, such as Cell Therapy Foundation or the John Paul II Medical Research Foundation, or organizations where the money is used toward patient and family services, such as Compassionate Care ALS.
