President Michael Sata was flown to Johannesburg on 26 May after a sudden deterioration in his health, Africa Confidential has heard. He had been expected to open the Heroes National Stadium in Lusaka that day but did not show up. Speculation was already rife that he was planning to fly abroad for treatment after he appeared to need help walking at public appearances last week. At another event, he cut short his speech and left early. State House has denied the reports and refused to comment on the Presidents health or the persistent suggestions he has prostate cancer. africa-confidential/article/id/5641/Sata_health_fears_grow
