President Obama is wading into deep geopolitical waters, beyond - TopicsExpress

President Obama is wading into deep geopolitical waters, beyond his ability to manage seemingly. After failing to win Iran over before the Syria strike, he now faces delays with the UK politicians failing to reach agreement for the moment. Finally Washington and Moscow sources disclose Obama has had to put the brakes on the momentum for the strike as US Secretary of State John Kerry winds up secret negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to also strike a deal. The deal would be so the US would soften its military action against the Assad regime and his army and reduce it to a token blow [for Obama to save face], after which the American and Russian presidents would announce the convening of Geneva-2 to hammer out a solution of the Syrian crisis and end the civil war. The Kerry-Lavrov back channel has not yet achieved the results sought...the fate of the US strike on Syria is still highly fluid and its timeline changeable. Meanwhile Russia after failing to be persuaded by Obama [for now] for a "Shock & Awe-LITE" deal for Syria have decided to beef up the composition of the Russia fleet in the Mediterranean sea.
