President defends all the criminal activities swirling around him, pretending to be a righteous leader of substance when, he is in fact and in deed, the exact opposite. The criminal... the Budget secretary, a confidante of the President in the ruling Liberal Party. In his department was born the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP), a mechanism aimed at usurping the congressional power of the purse, and providing funds to bribe lawmakers into ousting a troublesome chief justice of the Supreme Court. The subversion of justice .. influential persons accused of serious crimes are coddled, and in which law enforcers who do their jobs in defiance of their corrupt superiors are relieved. We have learned of a high-ranking Liberal Party official making a phone call to the chief of the National Police, on behalf of a real estate businessman who is accused of bilking taxpayers of P6.6 billion in housing funds. Then we hear the Palace blithely claim there was nothing irregular about the phone call. The Agriculture secretary who faces not just one, but three plunder cases over allegations that he and his close associate, the administrator of the National Food Authority, approved government-to-government rice importations that were clearly overpriced. This same secretary has famously failed to curb rice smuggling, which hurts the national coffers and Filipino farmers alike The criminal.. Social Welfare secretary who seems more concerned with her public image than bringing relief to the victims of natural calamity. We see an administration that is the recipient of generous aid from all over the world, but shows reluctance about using it to directly benefit its suffering constituents. We see international agencies doing more for the people, than their own government. ..rehabilitation czar who, despite the outpouring of international aid, wants private corporations to take the lead in rebuilding the storm-battered areas of the country. The same official was appointed to his post, despite his track record as a fugitive from justice, when he fled the country to avoid arrest instead of facing the murder charges against him in court.
