President warns ADF against attacking Uganda, urges Ugandans on refugees President Yoweri Museveni has warned ADF rebels against attempts to attack Uganda, saying they will be dealt with decisively. He said they have held talks with President Kabila and the UN that they should deal with these killers adding that they agreed that an AU force should come and maintain peace in Congo. “I have told President Kabila and the UN that they should deal with these killers. We can’t have neighbours who are murderers. ADF killers are in Congo, if they dare to attack Uganda they will suffer the consequences. We are now watching what the AU force will do to protect the Congolese. I urge Ugandans to look after our people fleeing the conflict in Congo. These are our people, the boundaries are foreign. Slowly by slowly we shall bring Africa back together. An elephant always carries the weight of its tasks howver heavy,” he said. He said the government of Uganda is waiting for the AU to assist the DRC to eliminate groups responsible for insecurity. He cautioned the supporters of the Obusinga to stop fighting over cultural issues such as differences between the Bamba, Batooro and Bakonjo. The President was today speaking at a public rally at Bundibugyo District Headquarters as part of government efforts to reinforce the fight against household poverty especially among veterans in former NRA operational zones. The President is revoking the bush war strategy to win the poverty war using former war zones as economic zones to spur transformation. Senior army officers will monitor projects in all former operational zones to reinforce efforts of eradicating poverty. In Rwenzori region, President Museveni appointed Lt. Col. Andrew Mbazaki as overseer. He will be working alongside local leaders to ensure project implementation. The President said while government has worked on infrastructure projects such as electricity, roads, telephones, etc the people must exploit these to improve their incomes and add value to their produce such as palm oil, cocoa etc. He urged them to engage in cost effective enterprises including rearing animals such as pigs and poultry. The President pledged to provide Hydro foam machines for brick making for the veterans houses, tractors, improved cattle for milk production and improved seeds and planting materials to boost production.
