Presidential election 1984.Whilst I was working the polls as a clerk two elderly women whom I knew from my old paper route came in to vote.We came in to vote against the commie thats running.Gus Hall / Angela Davisl I inquired?No, the other one.I looked down the list and said Hall is the only one..No John that one.She pointed to a 5th party candidate.He isnt a communist Mrs...He is a Utilitarian utopian socialist from the post Benthem school.She flustered and said he isnt a democrat or a God fearing republican so he must be a commie.Understanding her octogenarian logic and that she voted for Harding in 1920 in the first election that allowed women that right to do so I dropped my protest.It must be an age thing.Im starting to group all the lefties together now too and Im years under 60 yet.Age must deny the need for complicated accuracy although Im not quite there yet!
