#Presidio trust completes 15-year cleanup program outlined in the consent agreement with #DTSC With only a little fanfare, the Presidio Trust, the federal agency responsible for transforming the historic Army post into a national park site, hit a critical milestone this spring when it completed the $172 million environmental remediation program set out when the Army transferred management of the cleanup of the San Francisco installation to the Trust in 1999. Since then, the Trust has cleaned up more than 200 hazardous waste sites within the 1,500-acre National Historic Landmark outlined in a consent agreement with the California Department of Toxic Substances Control. The Trust fulfilled a separate order with the California Regional Water Quality Control Board addressing sites with petroleum contamination. The National Park Service was a party to both agreements.
