Press Release For Immediate Release Friday September 19, 2014 On Thursday September 18, 2014, Officers with the Martin County Narcotics Units conducted a surveillance operation which resulted in the seizure of 156 dosage units of crack cocaine, 6.7 grams of powder cocaine, $10,142.36 in cash and a 2005 Ford Mustang GT. Arrested in the operation was Everett Dushun Pearson. This operation was conducted as a result of numerous complaints that Officers received regarding Pearson’s involvement in the illegal distribution of narcotics in Martin County. Officer’s conducted surveillance on Pearson and formed probable cause to conduct a traffic stop on Pearson’s vehicle. Pearson was stopped at the intersection of Rhodes Street and White Street in Williamston. The estimated street value of the cocaine seized is approximately $4,000.00. The Martin County Narcotics Unit is comprised of Investigator’s from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and a Detective with the Williamston Police Department. The Martin County Narcotics Unit has been functioning since February 2007. Martin County Sheriff Dan Gibbs and Williamston Chief of Police Travis Cowan believe that seizures of this caliber will significantly impact the drug trade in and around Williamston / Martin County. Suspect: Everett Dushun Pearson B/M, DOB: 08-02-1972 2712 NC Hwy 903 North, Stokes Charges: • Trafficking in Cocaine by Possession • Trafficking in Cocaine by Transportation • Trafficking in Cocaine by Manufacturing • PWISD Cocaine (2 Counts) • Maintaining a Vehicle to Keep/Store Cocaine (2 Counts) • Driving While License Revoked Bond: $180,000.00 secured Court Date: 10-13-2014
