Press Release From Deputy Chief Mark Kraus: On April 6, 2014 at 11:13 p.m., Corporal Kevin ORourke was dispatched to the 4400 block of Pleasant Drive in reference to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, Corporal O’Rourke spoke to the victim who advised that he was robbed by a white male named Gene and a white female named Jade. Victim advised Officers that he knew the female suspect and where both of the suspects may live. Officers were provided with an address, suspect description and vehicle description by the victim. Lake Charles Police Corporal Robert Janice, Corporal Shad Brister and Officer Ashley Domingue went to a trailer park on Tallow Drive with CPSO Deputy Williams. Upon arrival, Corporal Janice observed a white male, later identified as Eugene Nichols, who matched the male suspect description and detained him. Nichols then directed Officers to trailer 45 where he lived and officers observed a white Buick in the driveway that matched the suspect vehicle description. Officers knocked on the door to trailer 45 and Jade Carnahan came to the door. Officers observed that she matched the female suspect description. Officers detained Nichols and Carnahan who were later positively identified by the victim. Both suspects were placed under arrest and transported to the Lake Charles Police Department for booking. Detective Joe Savoie was called out to handle follow up investigation on this case. Arrested: Eugene Edwards Nichols III, 30 year old white male, address 932 Tallow Road, Lot # 45, Lake Charles, LA. Charges: Armed Robbery, bond $50,000.00 Illegal use of dangerous instrumentalities, bond $5,000.00 Total bond $55,000.00 Jade Nichole Carnahan, 24 year old white female, address 932 Tallow Road, Lot # 45, Lake Charles, LA. Charges: Armed Robbery, bond $50,000.00
