Press Release – At approximately 12:00pm on this date, the Copperas Cove Police Department was made aware of a threat against the Copperas Cove Independent School District through an email sent to a local newspaper. A juvenile CCISD student was detained shortly afterwards and questioned about the content of the email followed by a search of a residence. The initial investigation revealed no evidence that would implicate the student or validate the threat; therefore, no charges have been filed at this time. Although the threats were not substantiated, additional officers maintained security at the high school as an added precaution. There were no reported injuries as a result of the threat. The Copperas Cove Police Department will continue to investigate this threat.
