Press release On 5-28-14 a prisoner was admitted to the Freeman West to check his heart after a medical issue he had while in the jail. The prisoner, Jason McAdams was being held on several felony charges including Resisting Arrest x 2 counts and Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and stealing. Mr McAdams took off after a shower from the reserve deputy that was watching him and ran from the hospital around 9 am. The reserve notified Joplin PD and hospital security. A deputy with the sheriffs office was on the way to relieve the reserve and was notified and also started looking with Joplin PD. Within approx 30 minutes the prisoner was located by Joplin PD and the deputy and placed back into custody and returned to the hospital with additional help to be medically cleared.
