Presumably it will be on BBCs iPlayer but for those in the UK there was a TV show last night on the quest to discover Alfreds burial place and remains. Whilst the results were hardly conclusive (and have been widely reported) the programme, though covering some ground that Michael Wood did (far better) recently, gave a reasonable introduction to Alfreds life - but more interestingly a run through of what happened to his remains at Winchester and then Hyde Abbey. I couldnt help being reminded though of the M. R. James ghost story A Warning to the Curious.
