Pretty cool that Stanley, Idaho gets to claim The Salmon River- River of No Return as our river. It has a number of claims to fame. 1. At 420 miles long the Salmon River of No Return is the longest free-flowing (no dams) river in the United States. 2. The longest continuous river within one state. 3. At over 5,000 ft deep, The Salmon River Gorge is deeper than the Colorados Grand Canyon. Any more?
