Pretty long, but such a cool story! Tuesday, I awoke to the sound of rain outside, and remembered I forgot to take the 2 loads of laundry off the line Monday night. The day progressed with homeschool (really, the kids outside tromping through the mud, finding crawfish and us calling that science for the day) and me trying to get a lesson outline together for 5:00. I read over some of the material while trying to get Judah down for a nap and I needed to figure out my printer and why it wasnt following my directions! Then I decided Id just handwrite a basic outline. The class title- Our Gang was as far as I got. The clothes on the line had dried again and it was just starting to drizzle. I ran out and got them inside, and by this time Judah was really tired and I hadnt even gotten dressed for the class. I went to my room to nurse him to sleep, and then heard screaming from the hallway. Caleb and Evie were fighting and Caleb had done something worthy of a spanking. I explained that Daddy would take care of this when he got home, which sent him into a downward spiral. Hes hysterical and goes to pack his bag to run away- food, clothes, etc... He told me on the way out the door that maybe hed make it to Massachusetts by the time hes 18 so he can go to MIT. I didnt know how far hed get, so I stopped him and made him come in, trying to calm him down. I go to check the mail and find a letter from DEMCO. I forgot to pay the bill and Elec. would be turned off tomorrow if they didnt get a payment in by today!! I ran and found something clean to wear, grabbed my purse and my only plan for class- You are Special by Max Lucado. Its all You, God! Kids were all loaded up, everyone with shoes and clothes on, we paid the bill b/f they closed, and even made it to class early. Nick was there waiting to take the kids and we talked about how spankings might not be very affective for Caleb. They might do more harm than good for our sensory child...even though we use them sparingly. The class was wonderful and it really was all God. I dont think it could have gone any better. Caleb and Nick had a nice little talk and decided on another consequence. - And then Wednesday, Caleb comes and asks me to help him write a song. (Hes learned several chords on the guitar.) Its about how God is more than everything to him and rescued him from sin. He basically wrote the whole thing, chord progression and all! Hes been singing it all day... Sooooo Amazing!
