Pretty much what Aldous said: Something to realize before you rail on healthcare.gov/ and its issues: It was never supposed to be a massive 36-state marketplace for health insurance procurement. It was intended to just be an informational portal that would shunt each user to their individual states marketplace site. With the 14 states that cooperated and set up their own exchanges, there has been virtually none of the problems reported so loudly. So, used as intended, it works perfectly. But, naturally, the spiteful refusal of 36 state Governors to cooperate in any way with the ACA forced the design team of healthcare.gov to try and scramble to make it what it wasnt intended to be and - heres the kicker - with no additional funding from the initial design budget. Yes, not one of the 40+ attempts to DE-fund the ACA has worked, but neither has any attempt to increase funding to help the designers compensate for the exponentially increased burden being asked of the website. So, for those of us (like myself) who is cursed with a Governor who would rather harm his/her citizens than cooperate with a new Federal program, be patient. They are working, again without additional funding, to get everything stabilized. Me, Im all for Medicare for All, and find the ACA a barely-laudable stepping stone to that. That said, lets not let the nonsense ruin this one SMALL step forward weve obtained.
