Pride cometh before a fall... Can also be said, that prideful people WILL fall. An example: self-righteous folks who exalt themselves over everybody else, especially those who are less off in finances, relationships, status, religious affiliation, intelligience, power, authority, etc... A prideful person considers himself superior to others, in his own eyes. Of course, his attitude is evident to everybody around him, despite his efforts to hide it. It is as obvious as the nose on his face. Supercilious people think very highly of themselves, more highly than of others. I could go on an on about this, but its really very simple. GOD isnt happy with that kind of attitude & way of thinking. If you continue to utilize/employ folks into your organization (business, religious, educational, etc.) that have that way of thinking, sooner or later, its going down. Seriously, you cant hide or outrun GOD. Look at the Tower of Babel. They claimed they were doing it for GOD, but GOD disagreed. He brought them down & scattered them. Just a thought...
