Pride of having a "daughter":: With the henious act of female infanticide on the rise i thought this incidence is an eyeopener- Today i had a patient; a destitute. She has two sons the elder one was saved after shelling almost lakhs, now he is happy n bouncing! I was treating the younger one who is 1.5years and recovered! She was a grateful and during our conversation she said: डॉक्टर मला एक पोरगी हवी होती, माझी लई इच्चा व्हती पोरी कश्या प्रेमळ असत्या म्हातारपणी पोर उलट त्यात पण पोरीच इचारतात . I personally feel this "attitude" is an eyeopener for all of us; especially for those who dare a female foeticide. If a poor, illiterate lady can have such a noble thinking why cant v? Are we really "educated" or its just that we are "literate"! Its time to change our "mindset" towards females and especially female foeticide...but unfortunately we as the government are busy changing "policies"...
