Primary schools are pathetic these days, apparently your kids can only have days off now for exceptional circumstances and I read one article that stated a child wasnt allowed to go to her grandfathers funeral or the parents would receive a £1,000 fine! Im not being funny but on the day of my dads funeral (just over 9 years ago) not only was I allowed the day off school, but out of pure respect even my teacher at the time came too!! If a funeral isnt an exceptional circumstance anymore then what is??
