Princess and I went to pick up Honeybunches. The second I sat on - TopicsExpress

Princess and I went to pick up Honeybunches. The second I sat on the bench in the hallway, the counselor was waving for me to come up the hall near his class. She explained how he was trashing the place and having a hard time all because he missed one star this afternoon for not getting work done (Out of 75 he could have earned this afternoon since 11 am). I go into the classroom to see the teacher, school psychologist and principal talking. He was in the time out space. They had a set up of bandages and antibacterial cleaner on a desk. There were lots of papers on the floor... Well, not a lot compared to last time. The teacher explained how he found these little circle holes in the wall. A certain one he found to cut his fingers on purpose, which he succeeded in doing. The teacher tried to stop him from doing so, but he began hitting the teacher so the teacher closed the door for a few minutes (Plexiglass, see through door). They had ordered padding for the walls, but a piece was missing. Theyre waiting for that to come. The teacher already got on preventing this from happening again. The janitor is going to put caulking in the holes for a temporary fix. (Which Honeybunches will likely just pick out of the holes, but at least it will temporarily stop him from hurting himself that way while in there.) The janitor looked in the classroom at the mess and I heard him talking to somebody else in the hall about Job security lol. (Hes really nice and funny... I was not one bit offended and actually smiled.) He calmed down after a few minutes and the principal went to get Princess, whom Honeybunches was requesting. We had him wash his hands. I put bandaids on them. He picked up his mess. Then the teacher and Honeybunches were deciding what level hed be on after break. I added in my two cents: If a child hurts a teacher or other student they automatically go back to yellow. I said Hurting yourself is just as bad as hurting somebody else... Its serious too. So back to yellow he went. (Thanks Mom LOL.) I was telling the teacher that one of my main concerns about the middle school is that they dont have a time out spot. There is nowhere for him to go when he needs that space, is hurting somebody else, trashing the place or hurting himself. I think I should advocate for them to make one or else that school may not meet his needs. He needs such a space. I am curious how his days will go without one and how theyll deal with his behavior issues there. The middle/high school has a school police resource officer, whom I believe theyll be utilizing a lot and IDK how I feel about that. Anyways, this is how our Holiday break began.
