Principal photography - Day 4 (Morning) - Gaars Estate, Missouri - They say never use animals or children, well we have both, in fact on Day 4 we had two animals: a dog and horse...and surprisingly this was one of our fastest mornings. With a veteran crew, we arrived on sight to the tall grass field well before sunrise to be sure to capture the rays. A captivating mist hung long over the location, and after it burnt off we continued its effect by fogging, this time due to the athletic efforts of Sam Midkiff (you never notice how much the wind moves until you need it to stop...). Elmo (our pup) and Lady (our horse) performed like pros as the entire cast and crew assisted in wrangling them throughout the accelerated morning, achieving some of our best footage.
