Principally it sounds so good that democracy is a system of making decision effective, reintegrating constitutional liberalism into the practice, rebuilding broken political institutions and civic associations,making civic society powerful,providing people a responsible and transparent state mechanism. But reality is, it has been observed in present scenario that democracy is nothing but potentially dangerous, bringing with it the erosion of liberty, the manipulation of freedom, the decay of a common life. Not a single democrat in our country hardly bother to think that modern democracy is facing difficult and different new challenges like, fighting terrorism, adjusting to globalization,failing to achieve required economic growth, failing to create employment generating enterprises, increasing ignored aging society—increasing gap between haves and haves not. Leaving apart, they are busy to concentrate themselves for the betterment of ‘their people’…! Our democracy is nothing else but a name. Do we all vote? Do we take right decision during Vote? No...,Then ? What does that mean? Over all, present democracy in Nepal is an art of running the circus where leaders are Ring Master and we people ..? No need to say, as we all know…! But, one thing I would like to know, do only leaders are responsible for these circumstances? Not we…? if yes, Then How Long ?
