Printed from THE TIMES OF INDIA AAP to release videos of Gujarat farmers to ‘expose’ Modi Himanshi Dhawan,TNN | Mar 16, 2014, 01.07 AM IST AAP to release videos of Gujarat farmers to ‘expose’ Modi AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal . NEW DELHI: Seeing is believing! And the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) certainly hopes to drive home the point further when it comes to Narendra Modis Gujarat. After accusing the media of not exposing the truth about Gujarats development model, the party plans to take on the role of the citizen journalist. It will release video footage including farmers testimonials, documents and other details on its website to focus on the poor state of health and education facilities and violation of environment and land acquisition norms in the state. These videos were prepared by AAP volunteers after touring 26 districts in Gujarat. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Dilip Pandey too had travelled to several villages over a period of three days between March 5-8. Kejriwal later accused the BJPs prime ministerial candidate of misleading people into believing that life in his state is perfect. We plan to upload raw footage that completely exposes Modis claims of development whether it is environment violation that have destroyed the lives of people in Ankeleshwar region or poor farmers being cheated of their land in Versana village, Pandey said. He said Gujarat is not an industrial state but a chemical one indicating that the peoples lives were being shortchanged for industrial growth. Earlier in the day, Kejriwal tweeted some questions targeting both Modi and the media. Why did some sections of media lie about Modijis development? Would media now have the courage to tell the truth about Gujarat? Isnt it true that 800 farmers committed suicide during Modijis regime? Isnt it true that there is huge corruption in Gujarat even 11 years after Modiji took over? Isnt it true that 60,000 small industries closed during Modijis regime? There are many more truths about Modijis development. But the question is — which media house would show that? The 2-minute videos will be released over a period of time, tackling issues of health, education, forceful land-grabbing and pollution.
