Prior to Brendan Powers visit to India, some of us in Bangalore were treated to an excellent harmonica concert by Mr. Sulaiman Jamal with live musicians, held at a beautiful theater in Whitefield-Bangalore. Sillu, as he is known to most of his friends, is a harmonica lover who plays this instrument for fun. While on business in Goa, he met a few musicians there, and over some local brew, hummed a few tunes to each other. They decided to get together the next day and record some songs. Check out this beautiful rendition of The Peanut Vendor, a very old song that originated in Cuba in the late 1920s. Sillu is playing this on a Chromatic Harmonica. Enjoy...
