Prize Distribution. One of Raymond Pollocks favourite days and sadly for us his last as principal of Banbridge Academy. It was an afternoon of mixed emotions, sadness at loosing such an outstanding principal but also a celebration of 19 years of his incomparable leadership. His down to earth uniqueness, from pupil to dignitary made him a friend of everyone. Fitting tributes were paid to him by Archdeacon R West, Chairman of the Board of Governors Mr M Orr QC SC, Guest Speaker Mr Alva Brangham QC, Mr Gavin Boyd Chief Executive (Interim) SELB & Mr Martin McNeill Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors. Not forgetting the pupils Instrumental Ensemble of Hello Dolly & the girls choir singing the touching words of Fields of Gold. Congratulations to all worthy prize winners and as always BAA was delighted to have so many prizes to give to pupils receiving As & A*s in their G.C.S.E.s & A levels. The Association is also delighted to see one of our past members but still very much a friend of the Association, past pupil, mum Jo-Anne Dobson MLA taking up her new role as a Governor, we wish her and all new members well!
