Pro-India IOK politicians hand-in-glove with army: Freedom leaders Srinagar, September 25: In occupied Kashmir, pro-freedom leaders have said that the confession by former Indian Army General VK Singh that the Indian army has been paying puppet ministers vindicates their stand that people in power are in collusion with the Army to suppress the ongoing freedom movement in the territory. The All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said that VK Singh’s statement had opened a Pandora’s box. “The remarks have brought to fore the truth of Kashmir, the grim and chilling reality of how forcible control and subjugation can be enforced under the facade of democratic rule to hoodwink its people and the international community,” he added. Elaborating his viewpoint, Mirwaiz said, “In actual practice the territory has been reeling under martial law for decades, the blood of our young and old spilled on the streets, unaccounted for and without remorse.” The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar, while reacting to Singh’s statement, said that corruption was being used to suppress the ongoing movement. “There are 27,000 NGOs registered in a small territory like Kashmir and most of them are funded by Army and other agencies to quell the ongoing movement under so-called Operation Sadbhavana,” he added. The pro-India politicians are responsible for demolishing the democratic and legal institutions in Kashmir. They have choked the genuine political and just voice of oppressed Kashmirs,” Nayeem Khan maintained. The Chairman of JKLF-R, Farooq Ahmad Dar in his reaction said that the Valley’s youth had never distanced themselves from their noble cause and what VK Singh had said was a mere stupidity. He also grilled Manish Tewari for his statement saying that if Kashmiris’ freedom struggle was senseless then the India’s freedom struggle was baseless. Manish Tewari in his recent statement said that Kashmiris should shun this ‘senseless’ struggle. The vice chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Movement, Mir Shahid Saleem in a statement said that the revelation had exposed the dubious and criminal role of Indian army in occupied Kashmir.
