Professorship in Development Studies The Faculty of Geosciences and Environment at the University of Lausanne plans to appoint three new professorships in its Institute of Geography and Sustainability, one of which in development studies with a focus on society-environment relationships in the Global South. A background in geography, sociology, anthropology or a related discipline is required. Furthermore, demonstrable experience with inter- and transdisciplinary collaborations and with field-based research are essential. The successful candidate will teach human geography, development studies and qualitative/mixed methods at the undergraduate, graduate and PhD levels. She/he is expected to build up and lead a vigorous, internationally recognized research program attracting external funding. Depending on experience, the appointment is expected at the rank of full professor or at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor with the possibility of full professor status within 5-6 years.
