Program Manager Chennai, Tamil Nadu The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program for the children’s homes assigned in their region (Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh primarily). The program is the organization’s innovative methodology, which is allowing the organization to transform orphanages into homes and make certain the children are receiving their rights. This position reports to the India Country Head and is responsible for overseeing the Program Coordinators in their assigned homes. Tasks and Responsibilities Responsible for the overall implementation of the program for assigned homes. o Lead the Program Coordinator team in mentoring, training and monitoring the management team and staff of the children’s homes. o Manage quarterly project status & planning meeting with children home management team to establish and measure progress to goals o Conduct mentoring and training at children’s home as needed Responsible for analyzing, measuring and reporting status of each home o Evaluate and assess the status of each home and lead calls with India and US management team to discuss action plans and progress. o Perform risk assessments and develop action plans o Work with the project team to implement programs in a timely and effective manner o Visit each home a minimum of quarterly with staff and contracted resources as required o Hold monthly calls with the US Program Manager, Education Manager and Program Coordinators to discuss highlights, areas of concerns, and discuss pertinent issues for the homes. Manage organizations’ India staff in local office o Manage and mentor each Program Coordinator to successfully execute the project plan and support activities in each children’s home o Ensure comprehensiveness and timeliness of reports submitted and distribute to appropriate parties. o Coordinate with Finance Manager and Finance Coordinator on financial monitoring and reporting at the home o Provide training and guidance to Program Managers, Social Workers and Trainers to ensure efficiency and consistency of training sessions. o Orient and mentor newly hired trainers and Program Coordinators. o Ensure accurate and timely entry of all program related data including children’s home, staff and children information in Salesforce database system. Identify prospective orphanages for program consideration and participate in screening and qualification process as required Continually enhance program through observations and input concerning what is working and what could be improved Provide guidance to children’s home management team on resource mobilization and linkages Identify and establish linkages with potential partners (water, education, training agencies, hiring agencies, solar and green initiatives, etc.) as needed. Assist India Country Head and other Program Managers to scale the program in India. Qualifications Masters Degree in Social Work, Child Development, Counseling, Psychology, or Equivalent. Minimum Experience At least 7/8 years experience in an implementation ngo Experience managing and mentoring individuals and working with NGOs in the social welfare field. Experience working with children residing in institutions, street children, and children who have experienced abuse. Experience counseling children and leading group sessions. Ability to speak English & Tamil required and Telugu desired Skills Highly organized and analytical with excellent communication skills Insightful with high level of emotional intelligence Keen to maximize results with minimum investment of funding Professional individual who works well with Management, Program Managers, Staff and Children at Children’s Homes.
