Progress to Broadcasting Scotland Referendum TV will be changing our name to Broadcasting Scotland and we intend to be the broadcaster Scotland needs. We intend to formally launch as Broadcasting Scotland on St Andrews Night an we invite you to join us join us on our journey. Plans for Broadcasting Scotland are developing, with new programmes and a business plan which will see us move to broadcasting up to 5 hours a day on satellite within a year. Scotland needs many independent media outlets to guarantee a fair and democratic society and we believe that Broadcasting Scotland has an important part to play in shaping Scotland’s future. Our business plan is designed to create a sustainable business model for a not for profit charitable company. In theory, our business plans shows us trading with a surplus without the £60,000 from the Indiegogo fundraiser, however, progress would be slow and cash-flow difficult. Reaching our £60,000 target would enable us to move to a permanent studio more suited to making programmes and would help us move to broadcasting on satellite. Many have already donated to this and other Scottish media projects and your support is essential to redress the balance in a system which is controlled outside Scotland and is so heavily weighted towards maintaining the status quo. What is needed and what we plan to become is a Scottish broadcaster, producing a wide range of programmes for all audiences in Scotland. Our aim is to show Scotland through a Scottish Lens. We need to offer opportunities to programme makers and actors in Scotland, so that they do not have to leave to advance their careers. It should be possible to make quality programmes in Scotland and not cast the leading roles or recruit production staff in London. It will not be enough to simply put on current affairs and politics which only talks to the part of Scotland which supports independence, we need to reach out to everyone with fair and balanced programming. We plan to put on a wide range of programmes with something for the whole family. As well as our flagship chat show, “In Conversation,” we are already working on plans for children’s programmes, nature, countryside and farming programmes and cookery and lifestyle programmes. We plan to create a schedule which will include entertainment shows, drama, documentary, music, comedy as well as current affairs and politics. We will create programmes for a modern, confident, outward looking nation, programmes for everyone in Scotland and build an audience who will trust our output for its quality, veracity and fairness. We need your support to reach our £60,000 target and ask that you spread the word to everyone who believes in a better future for Scotland. referendumtv.net/
