Project Rebirths Educators Initiative, Talking with Tim and Tanya - Letters from E.O Smith High Dear Tanya and Tim, Thank you so very much for sharing your touching stories with my class and I. I was so moved by your strength and dedication to project Rebirth. Sharing your personal story made the topic of 9/11 so much more real in my mind, and it taught me a lot. I kept on thinking to myself throughout your talk I don’t know what I would do if I was in your position. The strength you two have had to get through both emotionally and physically is absolutely amazing and I honestly idol you for that. Tim - I cannot imagine the feelings you have in relation to this topic. I can tell you had various emotions towards this and the way you share these emotions with us was incredible. I’m so thankful you found it important to share those with us. I will never forget the moment when you said you held on for your life and you only wanted to say goodbye or be with your brothers. I was so touched by it, as you said your entire world, all of your friends were taken that day. You explain it was yours and their jobs to risk your lives every day for the lives of strangers and that’s 100% the truth. I had mentioned to you that I am a junior explorer at my local fire department, and in my three years of doing this, Ive been exposed to a couple of fatalities. And the amount of tragedy and sadness in a life lost is unbelievable. I couldnt even come close to imagining the amount of anger and sadness of almost 3000 lives lost, some of them who you have connections with, could have made you felt. I can at least tell you that I wouldnt have the strength to have recovered from that. So thank you so very much for showing everybody that is absolutely possible. Thank you so much for your service I hope that one day I can be even a fraction of the person you are today. Your heroism and courage is so inspiring and I feel blessed to have met you. Thank you again. Tanya - Your love story between you and Sergio was absolutely beautiful and life-changing. I admire you for your faith and strength. I was absolutely amazed and incredibly saddened by your story and I cannot imagine your position throughout the Rebirth documentary. I felt a connection with you as I watched the film. I cried for you and laughed for you. Watching the clips of you and Sergio and hearing you introduce him as the love of your life, made me understand your true connection and love. And watching the tears roll from your face as you talked about how him, made me feel for you, understand your position. I’m so proud and happy for you and the fact that you’re able to recover to a certain extent and find it in yourself to start dating again and exploring your life. It led you to your beautiful family and I’m so happy you have that. Thank you so very much for sharing your story and I’m so thankful I was able to meet you and learn about your story. Thank you for sharing. Again, thank you so much Tanya and Tim for sharing your amazing stories with us. You both have taught me so much. God bless both of you and I’m so sorry for your losses.
